The Malone FoldAway-J Kayak Carrier is a universal mounting system exclusively designed for carrying a single recreational or touring kayak on its side. Fitting a wide cross-section of aftermarket load bars (round, oval, and square), the dual mount locations ensure lockdown of carriers to prevent side-to-side movement. The FoldAway-J is compatible with most OEM kayak systems. The carrier is built with corrosion-resistant coated steel, ample oversized padding, and heavy-duty molded parts backed by the manufacturer’s lifetime limited warranty on workmanship and material performance. Mounting bolts are included in two lengths so that you can use the ones that best fit your rack installation. You get cam-style load straps and safety tie-downs in the package as well.   • Failure to correctly install and use safety tie-down lines voids all warranty and liability

  • The carrier base has a rectangular “cutout” for square crossbar fit
  • The “cutout” will not affect the fit or function when installed to round or oval crossbars
